    Dr Jenni Sokol

    Head of Simulation      
    MBBS, FRACP, FCICM, MHPE (research), GCCS, GCHPE, Dip Paed, GDip Epi

    Jenni specialises in Inter-Professional Simulation-Based Education. As Head of Simulation at the Royal Children’s Hospital, she and the RCH Simulation Team focus on building capacity for Simulation–Based Education across the Melbourne Children’s Campus in order to improve clinical outcomes by training teams on patient safety, by developing and facilitating education programs on the management of the deteriorating patient and communication within teams and with families and patients.

    Jenni’s 30 + years as a medical clinician has resulted in her training in General Paediatrics, Neonatology, and Paediatric Intensive Care across Australia, Canada and England.  She currently works clinically with the Paediatric, Infant, and Perinatal Emergency Retrieval (PIPER) Service at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Victoria, Australia.

    Jo McKittrick

    Simulation Educator 
    Clinical Nurse Specialist (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit)

    Jo works at the Royal Children’s Hospital as a Simulation Educator Simulation Clinical Nurse Consultant as well as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Jo’s responsibilities include the development, implementation and support of simulation training programs, simulation trainer training, as well as provision of clinical specialist nursing care to children and their families in the PICU.  
     
    Over the last 25 years Jo has worked in clinical and nursing educational roles at the RCH, as well as clinical roles at Monash Medical Centre (Clayton Campus), Princess Margaret Hospital (Perth, WA) and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children (London, UK).  Most recently (2018), Jo has acted as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Extra Corporeal Membranous Oxygenation (ECMO) program co-ordinator. 
     
    Jo has a Diploma of Applied Science (Nursing), a Graduate Diploma In Advanced Clinical Nursing (PICU), a Master of Advanced Nursing Practice (Research).

    Michelle Kim

    Simulation Educator

    Michelle works at the Royal Children’s Hospital as a Simulation Clinical Nurse Consultant. Michelle’s responsibilities include the development, implementation and support of simulation training programs.
    Over the last 16 years Michelle has worked in clinical and in nursing educational roles at the RCH emergency department, as well as clinical and educational roles at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne.

    Michelle has also worked at St Vincent’s Private Hospital as the resuscitation and clinical deterioration coordinator in 2014/2015 and has worked in many hospitals in the UK and Australia wide specialising in adult and paediatric critical care (ICU, ED, Recovery Theatre)

    Michelle has a Bachelor of Nursing Science, a Graduate Diploma In Advanced Nursing Practice (Adult and Paediatric Emergency), a Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education, and a Master of Advanced Nursing Practice.

    Janine Evans 

    Clinical Nurse Consultant Simulation

    Janine works at the Royal Children’s Hospital as a Simulation Clinical Nurse Consultant.

    She previously worked in Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at RCH for over 25 years in a variety of roles including Clinical Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Consultant (with a focus on quality improvement). Janine has also worked in PICU at Monash Children’s Hospital, and with Médecins Sans Frontières in many countries as nurse manager or trainer for neonatal and paediatric care.

    Phil Lo

    Allied Health Simulation Educator 

    B.App.Sci (Physiotherapy), B. Bus.(Mgt), Grad.Dip App Sci (HIM), M.Anim.St (Animal Physiotherapy)

    Phil works at the Royal Children’s Hospital as the Simulation Allied Health Clinical Educator as well as a Physiotherapist on Wallaby Ward.  He also works as a human and veterinary Physiotherapist in his private practices.  “ They say never work with animals and children “ …. Someone has to…. Phil has been a Physiotherapy Manager in Acute and Paediatrics Northern Health and implemented the HWA Simulation program for Latrobe Uni Physiotherapy students across Northern Health campus sites.  He is a lecturer and examiner in an elective subject at Melbourne Polytechnic/Latrobe University for the 3rd year Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing degree.
